Entitled dog-owner demands fully-booked day-care take in her dog while she's away during holiday season, but she smugly leaves dog before they can refuse: 'We had to find space for the dog'

Sometimes it feels like not everyone is deserving of having a loyal pup. Working at a doggy day-care must be quite the experience, getting to see the different types of owners and their dogs each day. Each of which comes with a unique attitude and bark (and we're not talking about the dogs…). This doggie day-care worker is accustomed to dealing with challenging clients, but when the holiday season rolls around, it's almost as if these pet owners have consumed a huge jug of crazy, topped with entitlement on the side. We know Christmas can be a stressful period for anyone, especially those travelling for the holidays, but it is not an excuse to take it out on the sweet dog-boarding worker!

This pup-mother pulls up to the day care one random afternoon, with no reservations or required records, demanding the company take in her dog while she goes on a last-minute Christmas vacation…Frustrated and shocked when she is told that they are fully booked, she huffs and puffs as if auditioning for the newest rendition of the Three Little Pigs. She has made such a scene that the employee began trying to find a solution for her, but before the employee could approve her dog's stay, the woman walked out, leaving her dog there for them to deal with! That's not very 'Christmas spirit' of her if you ask us!

  • The audacity here is truly frightening, something we're quite sure even the Grinch would fear! She even goes on to express how ‘frustrating’ it is for her to deal with them!?… We're pretty sure it's the other way around here, lady! Who abandons their pet at a dog day-care company without any warning, putting the importance of her flight before her fluffy child this Christmas!

    The dog hadn't been there under her name in years and all its vaccines are expired She tells me that the vaccines ARE up to date, but that her extended family has all been bringing the dog to the vet own by one so they get the "new client" free exam and only have to pay for the vaccines every year (which also seems to tell me the dog only goes to the vet for vaccines, which is another whole conversation.....) I ask "okay, then who took the dog to the vet last?" Her response "how am I supposed to

I cannot call and ask for the most up to date records on a dog, that's illegal levels of personal information for the vet to give out" After SIX phone calls to the vet with different people's owner information, we finally got the records.

    AbruptMango Nope. The stonewalling starts and ends with "We've got no room, reservations are a thing." Moving forward to "Let me find your vaccination records so Fluffy can stay here" is when you lost. The only relevant fact is No Room, and the only assistance will be a print screen of Google "dog boarding near me" with your own shop crossed out in sharpie, labelled Full.

    OP Mudslingshot If I was the manager, yes But I was the assistant manager, and the manager routinely did things like this to fit in more dogs strictly for the money My only recourse was to do what I did, and try to find legitimate legal reasons we couldn't board the dog

    OP Mudslingshot Didn't have a choice. The manager of the facility would break rules constantly to get more dogs in. Money over everything I actually handled it the way she would want me to, which is one of the reasons I don't work there anymore
